Noel Gallagher teases Oasis 2027 tour in biggest hint yet

Noel Gallagher has dangled the possibility of another Oasis tour next year.

The rock legend and die-hard Manchester City fan will set the pulses racing of Oasis fans with some cryptic comments about what’s next for the reunited band after their long-awaited tour last year.

The Britpop icons memorably returned to the stage, having not performed together since 2009 amid the long-running feud between Noel and brother Liam.

But fans were treated to a long run of shows around the UK and Ireland and around the world from the band who spawned iconic hits including ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’.

And fans might want to get saving for further performances, if Noel’s comments are anything to go by.

Noel Gallagher teases Oasis return

Asked by Andy Goldstein if the rumours were true that Oasis would be gigging again next summer, Gallagher initially appeared to downplay the possibility on Drive: “It’s Liam, isn’t it? He’s not into it. He’s not into Oasis anymore.”

However, when told his brother had come off social media (Liam posted on X recently: ‘I’m out of here’), Gallagher responded: “Well, then there must be something happening.

“Let’s put it this way: there’s no football tournament on next year, so we’ve got to do something in the summer, right?”

There has been speculation of Oasis making a return to Knebworth next summer.

The group famously played the storied outdoor venue in Hertfordshire over two dates in August 1996.

Some 250,000 people flocked to see them that weekend, with around 2.5m applying for tickets.

City’s perfect start

Gallagher was also speaking about his beloved Manchester City, who made it two Premier League wins from two under new boss Enzo Maresca.

Erling Haaland and Ryan Cherki both bagged braces as City thrashed Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park last Friday.

They return to action on Saturday with a home clash against newly promoted Coventry.

Maresca then leads his side in Europe for the first time with their Champions League opener away to Porto next Tuesday, live on talkSPORT.

City had an eventful end to the transfer window, signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea and Iliman Ndiaye from Everton on deadline day.

In joining for £125m, Fernandez becomes the joint most expensive player in British football history alongside Alexander Isak.

Meanwhile, Jack Grealish has left the Etihad Stadium again, heading back to Everton for a second loan spell.

Fighting talk from Gallagher as City target Arsenal revenge

Gallagher thinks the Argentina World Cup winner could make all the difference to City’s Premier League title chances.

On the subject whether it would be another two-horse race between City and Arsenal, who beat them to glory last term, he said confidently: “Before we got Fernandez, [it was a case of] whoever finishes above us is going to win the league.

“We’ve got Haaland, [Gianluigi] Donnarumma, Cherki, [Elliot] Anderson, [Nico] O’Reilly… We’ve got a great team don’t you worry about that.”

He also insisted Arsenal still haven’t entirely ‘proven’ themselves, addressing the Gunners in continuing: “Let’s put it this say: you won the league last season; you never beat us at all.

“We played you three times [in all competitions]; you never beat us. We beat you in the [FA] Cup final, we beat you at our place and we drew at yours [in the league].

“So, for all the talk of Arsenal being this amazing squad and the best team in Europe, you’ve still got to prove it against us – and we just got better last night [by signing Fernandez].”
