New to Netflix in September 2026

Netflix will welcome fall with returning hits, true crime stories, horror favorites and a strong selection of older movies. The September 2026 schedule spreads its biggest releases across the month, starting with The Gentlemen and ending with several new documentaries and international series.

The Gentlemen begins its second season September 3. Guy Ritchie’s crime comedy will arrive as the centerpiece of the month, with Netflix already committed to keeping the series around for a third chapter.

September will also introduce Crew Girl, Wonka’s The Golden Ticket and Earle Meets World, a new series centered on Alix Earle. Meanwhile, the Monster anthology turns its attention toward one of America’s most notorious murder cases.

The Gentlemen and Monster Lead Netflix’s September Shows

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story premieres September 17 and continues Netflix’s successful true crime anthology. It shares that release date with the second season of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, giving subscribers two very different reasons to clear their schedules.

Crew Girl debuts September 10 as one of several international projects joining the service. That day also brings the French feature Call My Agent! The Movie, the Dutch series The Perfect Lie and a live NFL game from Melbourne.

Wonka’s The Golden Ticket arrives September 23. The competition series will invite contestants into a world inspired by Willy Wonka, adding another recognizable property to Netflix’s growing reality lineup.

The platform will also revive A Different World on September 24. Other returning television options include Heartland Season 19, Fauda Season 5, Law & Order Season 25 and all six seasons of Major Crimes.

Netflix Adds Horror Favorites and Popular Comedies

September 1 delivers the month’s largest library update. Horror fans can revisit Ready or Not, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Unfriended, Gothika and The Rite, per IGN. Netflix will also add the first four Jaws films, along with three live action Resident Evil sequels.

The rest of the opening day collection offers plenty of variety. Alien and Aliens cover science fiction, while Scarface and Straight Outta Compton bring acclaimed crime dramas. Viewers looking for something lighter can choose from Liar Liar, Big Daddy, Knocked Up, Uncle Buck, Antz and Sleepless in Seattle.

Additional horror movies will arrive throughout September. Smile 2 premieres September 3, while Oculus and House at the End of the Street join the catalog September 24.

Netflix’s original film slate includes Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? on September 9, Best of the Best on September 18 and UNABOMBER on September 25. Call My Agent! The Movie arrives September 10.

Comedy, Sports and Documentaries Round Out the Month

Jared Freid opens September with The Family Plan, while Stavros Halkias and Jo Koy debut their own standup specials later in the month.

Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly will examine the Olympic journey and viral fame of Australian breakdancer Raygun. The Untold banner returns September 8 with a documentary about Mr. T.

Other nonfiction highlights include Turning Point: Generation 9/11, Teenage Wasteland, Tribeca 25 and The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist. Netflix will close the month with The Widower: ‘Til Death Do Us Part.
