NBA rumors: Bill Simmons doubles down on Celtics’ Giannis Antetokounmpo trade intel

The number one domino potentially to fall this offseason is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, with the Boston Celtics having been mentioned as potential landing destination via trade. It was reported that Giannis himself views the Celtics as one of his most intriguing options along with the Miami Heat. But it appears as if the Celtics do not view things the same way.

Despite the Celtics being linked to a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, there appears to be no urgency or interest from the Boston side of things to break up the current team, as per NBA media analyst Zach Lowe.

“I certainly have not sensed any urgency from them to break up their team,” Lowe said during a recent episode of ‘The Bill Simmons Show.’

Simmons himself also said that he doesn’t the get the feeling that the Celtics are interested in Antetokounmpo at all. That would seem to line up with a previous report from Simmons in which he said he doesn’t think the Celtics really want the Greek Freak. That would also be in line with a report from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst dumping cold water on any Celtics-Antetokounmpo trade rumors.

In any case, the Antetokounmpo rumors are not going to die down anytime soon with many in the NBA world believing that this is the offseason the Bucks finally pull the trigger on a deal.

The 10-time All-Star battled injury issues this season and was limited to only 36 games. The Bucks missed the playoffs for the first time in 10 years and the organization opted to part ways with head coach Doc Rivers.
