‘My gosh!’ – Texas A&M’s Mike Elko in furious outburst as Longhorns celebrations interrupt press conference
Mike Elko was not a happy person in his post-game press conference after his Texas A&M lost their first game of the season against the Texas Longhorns on Friday.
The Lone Star Showdown is about as high-stakes a rivalry as it gets in college football, and it was the Longhorns who emerged victorious with a 27-17 victory, knocking the Aggies out of contention for the SEC championship game.

The victory led to loud jubilant celebrations from the Longhorns team, with the noise interrupting Elko’s post-gamepress conference.
This led to the clearly upset head coach snapping at someone to close the door.
“Could we close the door and run a professional press conference, please?” Elko said while clearly agitated.
“My gosh.”
The manner of the Aggies’ defeat may go some way in explaining why Elko was so clearly on edge while talking to reporters.
Texas A&M took a lead into halftime, but the Longhorns quickly flipped the script as they were 10 points up by the first play of the fourth quarter.
Elko’s team attempted a late comeback, but it was too little too late as the Longhorns closed out the win and ended the Aggies’ SEC title hopes.
Georgia will now secure a spot in the title game due to the tiebreaker.
Friday’s game also saw Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning shine.
Arch, who is the nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning and has a $3.6 million NIL worth, finished 14-of-29 for 179 yards with two touchdowns, 53 rushing yards and no turnovers.
It was his 35-yard touchdown run on third down with just seven minutes remaining that sealed the win as it stretched the lead to two scores.

The Longhorns had huge expectations before the season started, but cannot win the SEC as a result of its three losses. However, Manning and his team are still in playoff contention.
“We’re a good team… we’ve played a lot of good teams. We’re only getting better, and if you let us in, we can beat anyone,” Manning said postgame.
“I really hope this works out because we’re trending in the right direction.
“We’re playing our best football. We didn’t even play that well tonight, especially me… but this team never loses the fight. It’s fun to be a part of it.”
Whether the Longhorns make the postseason is largely out of their control.
The team will have to wait until December 7 to know if their season will be extended when the 12-team College Football Playoff field is announced.
