Morgan Rogers price tag leaves ex-Arsenal star speechless as transfer alternative suggested
Emmanuel Petit could not believe the reported valuation that Aston Villa have given Morgan Rogers.
Rogers is a wanted man with Arsenal making the dynamic winger a leading transfer target this summer.

The Daily Telegraph claims that Villa value the forward at £130million, a fee that would break the Premier League transfer record.
Alexander Isak became the most expensive player in the top flight’s history by joining Liverpool from Newcastle United for £125m in 2025.
However, talkSPORT understands that the report of the £130m price tag is wide of the mark.
The 23-year-old is understood to be keen on a move to Premier League champions Arsenal, whilst a switch abroad also appeals.
However, whilst Villa will likely earn a big fee should they sell Rogers, ex-Arsenal player Petit does not believe he should cost as high as £130m.
When Andy Goldstein told him the reported fee on talkSPORT Breakfast, the ex-midfielder went silent in what was apparent shock.
Petit sighed, and explained: “This is a ridiculous amount of money. I mean, since we got over the limit of £100million…
“Every single day, I see price tags on players that (make him say), ‘Wow, my God’. If you are willing to spend that kind of money on a single player that can make a difference…
“It’s been the case for Declan Rice (who joined in a £105m deal from West Ham United in 2023), he’s done well, very well.
“But, I wish him all the luck because that kind of price tag is huge pressure on your shoulders.”

Petit reveals dream transfer target
If Arsenal were to cool their interest in Rogers then they should look towards LaLiga for an ideal alternative, according to Petit.
“I’ve said it for a year now, I repeated it again last week. Nico Williams, I love him,” he said of the Athletic Bilbao winger.
Williams has 37 goals and 37 assists in 199 outings for Bilbao and is at the World Cup with Spain.
He was a target for Barcelona last summer before signing a new long-term contract until 2035.
Williams also starred for his national team at Euro 2024 and scored in the final against England, which Spain won 2-1.
At 23 years old, he is yet to play at the peak of his powers but as of now, Arsenal do not hold any activate interest.
