Mike Florio fed up with Aaron Rodgers’ BS ‘waiting game’ with Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to wait and see if quarterback Aaron Rodgers will re-join the team. With OTAs just days away, the Steelers should know at some point soon. NFL insider Mike Florio says it is time for the waiting game to end.

“If he truly doesn’t know it’s time to figure it out, and if you do know, it’s time to let everyone else know,” Florio said, per Pro Football Talk. “So everyone can get ready for the 2026 football season which will be here before we know it.”

Rodgers played the 2025 NFL season with Pittsburgh, and helped the team win the AFC North. The Steelers once again made the NFL Playoffs, and once again lost in their first game. Pittsburgh got shellacked by the Houston Texans.

Rodgers did not commit to returning to the Steelers, following that campaign. Even though the team had a coaching change, new coach Mike McCarthy expressed his willingness to welcome Rodgers back. The two won a Super Bowl together when they both worked for the Green Bay Packers.

The Steelers don’t have much experience at the quarterback position right now. Pittsburgh has 2025 NFL Draft pick Will Howard, as well as 2026 NFL Draft pick and rookie Drew Allar. Veteran Mason Rudolph is also in the mix, but his experience is somewhat limited in the NFL.

Steelers have had their patience tested by Aaron Rodgers

The Steelers have been the subject of much criticism this offseason, regarding how they have handled the Rodgers situation. The waiting game has gotten so strange that rumors have swirled recently that Rodgers could play for another team in the NFL.

The Arizona Cardinals have been mentioned a possible landing spot for the quarterback. ESPN reporter Adam Schefter threw cold water on that idea.

“I don’t think he is holding out, waiting for a better opportunity. I just think he has not been ready,” Schefter said on the network, and reported by Steelers Depot.

Steelers fans hope the quarterback situation is solved soon.
