Mark Daigneault addresses glaring issue in Thunder’s Game 1 loss to Spurs
OKLAHOMA CITY — Despite the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 122-115 double-overtime loss against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1, head coach Mark Daigneault is encouraged by the defending champions. Facing a 1-0 defecit in their best-of-7 series, Daigneault says the Thunder can imrpove their defense against Wembanyama.
However, Daigneault says the bigger issues lie on the Thunder offensive approach.
“We’ve done a better job on Wembanyama defensively than we did tonight but I thought we defended well enough to win the game,” Daigneault said. “Offense is where we can improve from tonight more so than defense. Not that we were perfect down there, and we were a couple of plays away. It was a double-overtime game. So, obviously, that was a play or two away from going our way.”
