Magic’s Jalen Suggs acknowledges fan frustration before 2026 NBA Playoffs
The Orlando Magic had high expectations coming into the season, but they were not able to live up to the hype. That has led them to the No. 8 seed and a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers in the Play-In tournament, which means they’ll still have at least two chances to advance to the playoffs.
Just like there has been frustration within the team and where they are, fans have probably felt that same way. Jalen Suggs understands that frustration, and just a few days ago, he acknowledged the fans and asked them not to give up on them.
“It’s definitely flown by, for sure, not going to lie. The city of Orlando knows how I feel about them, not only just from a fan perspective but just from a human side of things,” Suggs said via Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel. “Everybody that l’ve got to meet here has been amazing. All I would ask is — I know it’s been frustrating, I know it’s been a tough year — all y’all, we truly need you guys down the stretch, honestly. I promise we’re working.
“None of us in here have given up (or) waved any white flag, but we really need the energy and the effort from y’all when we come in this building and when we’re about to re-enter this building in the postseason setting like you’re talking about. So, like I said, they’re always so important to our runs, when they’re present with us. We ain’t made it easy on them, for sure. I just need y’all to stick with us, man. I promise we got y’all, I promise.”
A few days after that message, the Magic lost to the Boston Celtics in a game where they only played most of their end-of-the-bench guys, and that just adds to the frustration.
Luckily, the fans will still have a few more games left to cheer for them, as they still have a chance to make the playoffs.
