Magic Johnson calls out Cavaliers after Game 3 loss to Knicks

Following a disappointing defeat in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers are getting called out for their effort. NBA legend Magic Johnson took to social media to point out how the Cavs looked lackluster in their Game 3 loss to the New York Knicks Saturday.

“I was disappointed in the Cavaliers effort and body language tonight. There’s no way you’re at home, down 2-0 to the Knicks, and come out with a lack of effort and urgency,” Johnson posted in part on X, formerly Twitter.

Johnson also went on to give flowers to the Knicks. New York has now gone up 3-0 in the conference finals. The Knicks have also won 10 games in a row this postseason.

“The Knicks are on their way to the NBA Finals playing their best basketball, which is going to be trouble for the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs!” Johnson posted.

New York is now just one win away from making their first NBA Finals appearance in the last 20-plus years. It has been an unbelievable run so far for this New York team.

“We have a bunch of individuals in that locker room who work really hard, and they’re very psychotic about their work and things they do,” Knicks star Jalen Brunson said, per ESPN. “When their number’s called and when it’s time to go, they’re ready. A lot of real professionals on our roster.”

Cleveland must now win four games in a row to get to the NBA Finals.

“We did it to ourselves,” Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell said, per the Associated Press. “We can’t be mad now.”

Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals is Monday night in Cleveland.
