Dodgers’ Dave Roberts shares multiple injury updates including Shohei Ohtani pitching news

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been dealing with a few injuries over the past few weeks, and they’re hoping to get healthy as soon as possible. Manager Dave Roberts offered an update on a few players, while also sharing some pitching news regarding Shohei Ohtani.

“Some updates from Dave Roberts: Shohei Ohtani threw 30 pitches, will likely need one more live BP. Tyler Glasnow starts Tuesday in ATL. Justin Wrobleski will be a 2-3 inning reliever when he returns in Sept. Edwin Díaz will get a ‘softer landing’ when he returns in Sept,” Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This sounds like all the players are progressing well, and they should all be on the field at some point in September. The bullpen has dealt with most of the injuries on the team, and getting them healthy before the postseason will be key.

Even with the injuries, the Dodgers are still winning games, and that’s because of the star-level talent they’ve been able to gather on the team. They got a big win against the Pittsburgh Pirates in their latest game, and Roberts spoke about what he liked most about what he saw from his team.

“Our guys just fight,” Roberts said via MLB.com. “Even when we gave up the lead, we didn’t get down. And Tommy came up with an 0-2 base hit to win the game. We were short on pitching, so we needed that one.”

The Dodgers are currently 78-51 and are in first place in the NL West, and there’s a good chance they’ll stay there unless the San Diego Padres go on a crazy run.
