Luke Kornet’s perfect reaction to nuns’ gesture in Spurs-Thunder Game 4
The San Antonio Spurs probably did not need it, but it is never bad to receive divine intervention.
Just ask Luke Kornet.
Before Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Frost Bank Center on Sunday, a group of nuns blessed Kornet with a brief prayer.
Hey, it is the day of worship, after all.
The spiritual boost proved to be effective, as the Spurs ran away with the win, 103-82, to tie the best-of-seven series at 2-2. Kornet had solid contributions off the bench with six points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in 13 minutes.
When asked about his interaction with the nuns, the veteran center had the perfect answer.
“One and 0. So, pretty good result,” said Kornet with a smile.
He quipped that they might have to take the nuns with them to Oklahoma City for Game 5 on Tuesday.

As expected, fans had jokes.
“Divine defense incoming. Kornet’s got holy help protecting the paint tonight,” said @DaizyZeeX.
“Even the nuns know that flopping is diabolical,” added @Casualdisaster.
“At that point, the opponents already knew it was going to be a long night. Getting blessed by nuns before tip-off feels like unlocking a different level of protection,” wrote @ANdidiamak9917
“OKC really is a demonic a** team. Bruh, we’re calling Jesus for backup,” posted @rxarkcode.
“Gotta do something to combat Thunder Devil Magic,” commented @DShotDaiquiri.
Kornet is one of the most well-liked players in the NBA because of his personality. So it was not surprising that the nuns were drawn to him.
If the Spurs need a Hail Mary shot, they know who to give the ball to.
