LeBron James likes IG post suggesting a return to Cavs

As one of the best players in NBA history, it is naturally a huge deal that LeBron James is set to hit free agency this offseason. The 23-year veteran has had a longer NBA career than anybody before him, and nobody would have guessed his Los Angeles Lakers tenure would have lasted as long as it as. After two stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers and time with the Miami Heat, it is his Lakers tenure that has lasted longer than any of his previous stops.

The Kid from Akron certainly isn’t glued to the Lakers, though. While his son, Bronny James, might incentivize him to stay in Los Angeles, the elder James will certainly explore all avenues ahead of what will likely be his final season. Joining forces with Stephen Curry on the Golden State Warriors has been rumored as a possibility, a ring chase with the Denver Nuggets makes sense, and playing in the mecca of basketball with the New York Knicks would be a logical way for James to end his career.

However, nothing makes more sense for the Chosen One than a return home. Many think that the future Hall of Famer should retire where it all started and embark on one final run with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not only were the Cavaliers the team that took him first overall in 2003 and the team that he delivered a promised championship to, but they are legitimate contenders that would offer James the chance to compete for one final ring. The Cavaliers are currently in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Knicks.

James added fuel to the fire of a potential reunion when he liked an Instagram post with a picture of him in Cavaliers gear that says to ‘Come home.’ The post made by rawfootagerecords was not posted by a large account, which leads many to believe that the former number one pick is actively thinking about a return to Cleveland. It certainly would be a poetic way to end his career.
