Kyler Gordon Bears situation reportedly becoming a major problem

Tensions between cornerback Kyler Gordon and the Chicago Bears surfaced over June 2026. Which at the time involved a warning from general manager Ryan Poles about his NFL Injury pileup.

Gordon started NFL Training Camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. But now there are rumors that Gordon’s absence is rising as a problem inside the Bears’ facility.

Radio host for 104.3 FM The Score in Chicago Adam Hoge revealed some telling nuggets about Gordon’s Bears situation.

“This Kyler Gordon situation has veered into Nate Davis territory,” Hoge began. “There were valid reasons why he wasn’t on the field, and then it eventually just got to the point where everybody is a little fed up the guy’s not out there. That’s the vibe you get in the building.”

Hoge added that the message from head coach Ben Johnson for Gordon was “get healthy.” But that hasn’t materialized for the talented cornerback.

Gordon injured his groin before facing the rival Green Bay Packers in January. He ultimately wasn’t on the field when his Bears secured the NFC North title. Gordon currently is dealing with a soft-tissue issue, preventing him from actively participating in drills in front of fans.

So Chicago GM Poles might be forced to entertain shipping Gordon before the NFL Trade Deadline. Especially if the rumors are true that the Bears are growing impatient about his absence. Gordon once rose as a valuable contributor in breaking up 12 passes through his first two seasons.

Although Gordon isn’t Chicago’s top lockdown cornerback, with Jaylon Johnson claiming that title. Still, Chicago sounds distracted by Gordon’s absence per Hoge’s words.
