Hart then explained why chasing points or recognition cannot drive every player in a championship setting:

“It’s easy to get wrapped up in human nature of, you know, wanting to get recognition, wanting to score the ball, or wanting to show people what you can do on the biggest stage, and you know that’s not everyone’s calling, and not everyone’s assignment, and I know for me that’s that’s not really my assignment.”

The quote gave the veteran’s Game 1 stat line a clear meaning. Hart embraced the less visible work, cleared the defensive glass, and helped fuel transition chances without forcing offense or disrupting the Knicks’ spacing.
