Knicks HC Mike Brown’s ’10 weeks’ championship parade shirt seemingly alludes to James Dolan’s NSFW request

A lot has been made about New York Knicks owner James Dolan’s no sex request for players ahead of the playoffs, and head coach Mike Brown alluded to it at the championship parade.

Pictures surfaced (via The New York Post) of Brown at the parade. The front of his shirt featured the team’s logo, but the back had the number 10 and “weeks” under it in the style of a sports jersey.

Of course, Dolan famously jokingly asked his players to be celibate for 10 weeks during the postseason. It was an effort to get them locked in for the playoffs. Even if it was said tongue-in-cheek, the Knicks won a championship

Did James Dolan really ask Knicks players to give up sex during the playoffs?

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart revealed Dolan’s full speech to his team. He did jokingly ask his players to give up intimacy for the playoff run, but it’s unknown how many players abided by it.

Either way, the Knicks were locked in during the playoffs. They won 16 of 19 games and swept two opponents (the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers) on their way to the NBA Finals.

They beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games to win the franchise’s first championship in 53 years. The Knicks won the first two games of the series on the road in San Antonio. After dropping Game 3 at home, they staged a miraculous comeback in Game 4.

New York was down by as much as 29 points in Game 4 before storming back. They won the game thanks to OG Anunoby’s late tip-in on a missed shot.

They then closed out the series in Game 5 in San Antonio. The Knicks were also down in Game 5, but they were able to come back, thanks to Jalen Brunson’s 45-point performance. He won Finals MVP for his efforts.
