Wrestlers unite to celebrate Chelsea Green’s WWE SummerSlam world title win

On Aug. 2, 2026, during the WWE SummerSlam Night Two event, Chelsea Green defied all odds to crown herself the Interim WWE Women’s Champion. A ladder match took place at the PLE, where Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Green, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton competed for a shot at the vacant title.

Former Champion Rhea Ripley had to vacate the title after sustaining an injury a few weeks ago. Previously looked down upon by Michael Hayes as not the top girl, Chelsea Green won the title and dedicated the win to Hayes during the SummerSlam Night Two post-show.

Shortly after Green’s win, the internet went livid and expressed its love and congratulations for the new champion. WWE veteran Nattie wrote, “Congratulations [Chelsea Green]. You deserve it.” “Well deserved,” wrote WWE Superstar and AAA Cruiserweight champion Rey Fenix. Former WWE Superstar Jessie McKay also wrote, “OMG! I’m crying [crying emoji] Congratulations [Chelsea Green] Love you so much babe.” TNA’s Xia Brookside and WWE veteran Bully Ray also congratulated Green on her title victory. James Ellsworth and Steve Maclin also expressed their happiness.

Former female wrestler Leilani Kai shared a lengthy message on Green’s victory. “It put a tear in my eye to see [Chelsea Green] win the WWE Women’s Championship. She is one of the most talented young ladies to enter our business & one of the best people. I’ll never forget how she treated me my first night back at WWE after 40 years. Congrats hun. You earned it,” she wrote.

Chelsea Green’s husband Matt Cardona showers wife with praise after her WWE title win

Following Chelsea Green’s WWE SummerSlam victory, her husband Matt Cardona showered her with praise and compliments on social media. “Prove people RIGHT! I was with you when they wouldn’t even give you a try out. I was with you when they fired you. I knew you were a superstar. The fans knew you were a superstar. I love you [Chelsea Green] he NEW [WWE] Women’s Champion!” Cardona wrote. Apart from this one post, Cardona also shared multiple other posts of his wife’s title win.
