Knicks fan destroyed for ruining moment of silence for Nick Nurse’s late brother

The New York Knicks are taking on the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 3 on Friday night in the team’s first home game since winning Game 6 against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Earlier this week, news came out that Sixers head coach Nick Nurse coached Game 6 of the first round series just one day after the unfortunate passing of his brother, Steve Nurse.

It’s unfathomable to think that Nurse was somehow able to coach immediately after that and appeared to remain focused on overcoming a 3-1 deficit against the Celtics.

Back at home in Philadelphia, the 76ers decided to honor the late brother of their head coach with a moment of silence before Game 3 against the New York Knicks. What was supposed to be a heartwrenching moment for the Nurse family was apparently ruined when a Knicks fan decided to make things about himself.

Reports from Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena claimed that a Knicks fan yelled, “Let’s Go Knicks!” during the moment of silence. That fan was immediately met with a plethora of boos, and rightfully so.

There’s no reason this Knicks fan should’ve done this. This is clearly a matter bigger than basketball, and this fan should be ashamed of himself.

The 76ers got Game 3 off to a good start, leading 31-27 after one quarter of play. Paul George recorded 15 points in the opening period on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. The Knicks had a much more balanced scoring effort, as five players scored in the first quarter and all had either five or six points.
