Jude Bellingham was pulled away from the fourth official as tempers boiled over after Real Madrid were knocked out of the Champions League.

The Spanish giants had their European hopes ended by Bayern Munich with a 4-3 defeat in a thrilling quarter-final encounter at the Allianz Arena, condemning them to a 6-4 aggregate loss.

In a dramatic night of action, Bayern headed into the clash 2-1 up following their first-leg win at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Real Madrid quickly levelled the tie as Arda Guler put the visitors in front after just one minute.

After Aleksandar Pavlovic then equalised for Bayern, Guler then grabbed his second to put Real back in front, before Harry Kane made it 2-2 on the night with his 50th goal of the season.

Just minutes later, Kylian Mbappe levelled things up once again on aggregate by putting Los Blancos 3-2 up before half time.

The advantage then swung in favour of the hosts in the 86th minute, as Eduardo Camavinga was shown a red card for kicking the ball away having been shown a second yellow card just 24 minutes after his introduction.

This proved decisive in the tie, as Luis Diaz then fired Bayern in front on aggregate on 89 minutes, before Michael Olise wrapped things up by adding a fourth in the dying moments.

Wild scenes

Camavinga’s late dismissal appeared to leave Real Madrid’s players furious at full-time, as things bubbled over after the final whistle.

Jude Bellingham could be seen angrily moaning and had to be pulled away from the officials by a Real staff member.

Tempers then continued to flare over as the players made their way towards the tunnel.

Amongst it all, Arda Guler was shown a red card as a result of his protests, though the reason for this was not clear.

The Real Madrid’s players fury stemmed from referee Slavko Vincic’s decision to dismiss Eduardo Camavinga late on in the clash.

Having been brought on in the 62nd minute, the Frenchman was booked in the final 10 minutes.

Then, just minutes later, Camavinga kicked the ball away after fouling Kane, and the referee immediately showed him a second yellow card before producing a red.

Arbeloa slams ‘unbelievable’ dismissal

With the Real Madrid stars left livid by the decision at full-time, their manager Alvaro Arbeloa then added fuel to the fire with a furious post-match interview.

The former Liverpool defender slammed the red card decision, claiming that it ended the tie there and then.

Arbeloa said: “With the red card, everything is over… It’s unbelievable this action, I can’t believe it.

Alvaro Arbeloa has claimed the late dismissal cost Real Madrid

“Not possible in a match like this, we feel really upset. All of this is unfair.

“I’m very sad for my players, but I’m also very proud of them, because they gave it everything.

“They played very well, left it all out there, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be. We’ll be back.”

With their European hopes now ended, Real Madrid must turn their attention back to their faint LaLiga title hopes, as they currently trail leaders Barcelona by nine points with eight games remaining.

As for Bayern, they will face reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain in a mouth-watering Champions League semi-final.

On the opposite side of the bracket, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal will go head-to-head for a place in next month’s final.
