Jordan Love Raves About Underrated Packers RB

The Green Bay Packers didn’t have one of their best players on the field on Sunday. Josh Jacobs suffered a knee injury in the win over the New York Giants, and while he was a game-time decision, the Packers chose to keep him off the game vs. the Minnesota Vikings.

Fortunately for them, it still worked out perfectly for the team. Emanuel Wilson took the reins of the offense with 107 rushing yards and a couple of touchdowns to secure a 23-6 win over the divisional rivals.

With that in mind, Jordan Love had nothing but praise for his teammate. When asked about Wilson’s performance, he showed how confident he was in him having a big game:

“I think mentally he was preparing all week to be the guy, and to find out [Sunday morning] and come out here and have over 100 yards and break off some of the runs he did was pretty cool,” Love said of Wilson. “Great job by him to just keep building on and keep being ready for whenever that opportunity is going to present itself for him and take advantage of the more carries he got.”

The Packers will now hit the road to meet with the Detroit Lions for the second time this season. Jacobs might be able to return after a one-game absence, but even if that’s not the case, this team should still do just fine with Wilson.

The Packers’ offensive line has struggled to create much room for the running game this season. Josh Jacobs has been hit behind the line of scrimmage multiple times. Still, Wilson is a little craftier and more explosive, and while he’s not a better player by any means, he certainly brings other things to the table.

This game will have massive playoff implications. Regardless of who’s on the field, the Packers will have to make sure to take care of business in a game that could make or break their aspirations in the NFC North.
