Jordan Addison start or sit: Week 17 fantasy football advice
Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season will kick off with a Christmas triple-header today and the second matchup will feature the Detroit Lions visiting the Minnesota Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET on Netflix.
The Vikings collected their third straight victory on Sunday by edging the Giants 16-13 and while they’re eliminated from playoff contention, they can still finish the season with a winning record. We’ll see if wide receiver Jordan Addison can step it up in today’s holiday showdown.
Below, we’ll go over Addison’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 17.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings WR Jordan Addison
Addison caught just two of three targets for 26 receiving yards in Sunday’s win over the Giants, marking his third-lowest output of the regular season. That missed target was actually a brutal drop in the end zone as the third-year wideout failed to secure a touchdown in the first quarter, forcing the Vikings to settle for a field goal that put them up 3-0 early.
That marked the sixth drop of the season for Addison in what has been a disappointing year for him. He had a pair of 100+ yard performances following his early-season suspension, but hasn’t been able to hit those highs since and he’s barely been a top-50 fantasy wideout. Rookie Max Brosmer is starting in place of an injured J.J. McCarthy today, so we’ll see if Addison can get it going with him at QB.
Start or sit in Week 17?
Sit. If I was vying for a fantasy championship this week, I wouldn’t risk my season by leaving Addison in the lineup. He’s just not been a reliable hand and I don’t trust him to sudden’y have a breakout game with Brosmer starting.
