John Stones next club odds: Arsenal talk grows for ex City star

Arsenal have catapulted into the mix to sign England defender John Stones following his exit from Premier League rivals Manchester City.

William Saliba’s back injury in the World Cup semi-final against Spain has accelerated the Gunners hunt for a defender in this summer transfer window with talkSPORT BET quoting 6/1 to sign Stones.

However, it’s another Premier League club that is favourite to sign Stones this summer.

Former club Everton top the betting market at 5/4 to re-sign the England man who played for the Toffees between 2013 and 2016.

Stones really made his name at Goodison Park, becoming an England international during his spell in Merseyside.

David Moyes would value the 32-year-old’s experience as he tries to piece his Everton squad together for a renewed European charge this season.

Bayern Munich are chalked up at 10/3 and second in line to sign Stones. The German champions have a strong defensive setup already with Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah.

But with former Man City captain Vincent Kompany in charge of Bayern, he will know Stones’ game inside and out.

He may believe the England man can contribute towards Bayern making a real go at the Champions League next season.

Elsewhere, Italian champions Inter Milan are 7/2 to secure Stones’ signature. Serie A rivals Juventus are at 10/1.

Leeds are an intriguing 20/1 to shout. A move back to Yorkshire, but still competing in the English top flight, could appeal to the defender in what could be the twilight of his career.
