JJ Redick shares clear LeBron James formula amid Lakers-Thunder series

The Los Angeles Lakers will look to avoid a deep hole against the Oklahoma City Thunder as they battle in Game 2 of their second-round series at Paycom Center on Thursday.

The Lakers were overpowered in Game 1, and the Thunder ran away with an 18-point win, 108-90, despite a subpar performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The lack of offense doomed the Purple and Gold, as LeBron James was the only consistent scorer.

James, at 41 years old, is expected to do the same and a whole lot more in Game 2, and coach JJ Redick is not too worried about the four-time MVP, as shown in the video posted by the Thunder Wire’s Clemente Almanza.

“I think LeBron just needs to be LeBron. He can dominate in a number of ways,” said Redick.

“We need him to score, just like we need Austin to score, Rui to score. It’s hard to win games. You need your best offensive players to score.”

James had 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting in Game 1. He also had four rebounds and six assists.

Reaves, Hachimura, Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, and Luke Kennard, however, hardly contributed on offense. Reaves, in particular, only had eight points on 3-of-16 shooting. He did not offer any excuses, reiterating that he has to be better to help the Lakers against the defending champions.
