Jaguars land OL with Day 1 hype at pick No. 88

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Oregon Ducks offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon at No. 88 overall on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night, a player widely projected as a second-round talent. Ranked No. 41 on the consensus board, Pregnon’s slide into the third round positioned the Jaguars to secure one of the better value picks of the night.

Starting all 15 games for Oregon this past season, mainly at left guard (14 starts), Pregnon handled 726 offensive snaps and didn’t allow a sack. He gave up just one hit, three pressures, and was flagged only once.

Pregnon earned an 86.7 offensive grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking second among all FBS guards, alongside an 85.8 run-blocking grade (third) and 88.1 pass-blocking grade (seventh). His performance helped power a Ducks offense that ranked top 20 nationally in offense (452.2 yards per game), top 10 in scoring (36.9 points per game), and top 20 in rushing (198.6 yards per game), while allowing just 19 sacks and producing 100 plays of 20-plus yards.

Pregnon’s performance earned him first-team All-American recognition from the Associated Press, along with first-team All-Big Ten honors, and he was also named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award. After opening his career at Wyoming, he later transferred to USC and eventually to Oregon for his redshirt junior year. Over six years, he made 51 starts.

Jacksonville’s selection continued a clear Day 2 strategy focused on physicality in the trenches, following picks like tight end Nate Boerkircher (No. 56) and defensive tackle Albert Regis (No. 81).

Though not a primary need on paper, the Jaguars opted to strengthen their offensive front, adding another body to compete in front of Trevor Lawrence. Pregnon will enter a competitive group featuring Ezra Cleveland, Patrick Mekari, and Wyatt Milum.
