Is Mitchell Robinson playing tonight? Knicks vs. Spurs 2026 NBA Finals Game 3 injury report
The New York Knicks return to Madison Square Garden on Monday night with a 2-0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals. However, considering the wealth of talent and the fact that Victor Wembanyama is likely to only get madder as the series progresses, Jalen Brunson and co. will know fully well that the job is far from done as the series moves to home turf.
The only injury-related concern that New York has dealt with this series is Mitchell Robinson, who underwent surgery to repair a fractured fifth metacarpal in his right hand before the series but has continued to play through the injury while wearing a protective brace. And well, Robinson is set to continue the trend and has been listed as available on the official injury report.
Mitchell Robinson’s injury status vs. Spurs
Mitchell Robinson is available for Game 3 of the NBA Finals and is expected to continue as the backup center behind Karl-Anthony Towns. Robinson played just 13 minutes in Game 1 and then followed it up with 14 minutes of action in Game 2.
However, his importance comes forth whenever KAT needs to rest or sit out, something which has continued in the Finals as well. Robinson has shown commendable grit to keep available despite undergoing surgery shortly before the series and was actually listed as questionable for Game 1.
Through the first two Finals games, he has totaled nine points, nine rebounds, one steal, and one block in 27 combined minutes. His ability to battle Victor Wembanyama physically, secure offensive rebounds, and protect the rim has given New York valuable frontcourt depth behind Towns. That has also directly translated to the limited defensive impact Wemby has had on the series thus far, something which Robinson will be determined to continue with in what remains of the finals.
Of course, Robinson was initially also handed a technical foul after an incident involving the French phenom before it was rescinded. He is averaging 5.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in just over 14 minutes per playoff game while shooting above 70 percent from the field.
With the Knicks merely two wins away from their first championship since 1973, they will be delighted to have all of their stars fit and firing.
