IPL 2026, Match 10: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants Match Preview

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) square off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match No. 10 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This match is set to be played on Sunday, April 5.

Ishan Kishan's men lost their opening game against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium as they failed to defend a 202-run target. However, they bounced back with an emphatic 65-run win at the Eden Gardens against the Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this week.

While the bowling department doesn't look very threatening, especially in the absence of regular skipper Pat Cummins, the likes of Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga, and Nitish Kumar Reddy have performed well. Batting continues to be their stronger suit, with Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan all being among the runs after the first two games.

On the other hand, Lucknow have only played one game so far. They were beaten by the Delhi Capitals at home. After being bowled out for 141, the Super Giants had Delhi on the mat at 26/4. However, the fifth-wicket partnership of Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi took their team home with 17 balls to spare.

Lucknow have tinkered around with their top three in the batting order. It was surprising to see Aiden Markram relinquishing his opening slot to captain Rishabh Pant. However, the move backfired as the wicketkeeper-batter was run-out under unfortunate circumstances. Nicholas Pooran, who had a terrific season while batting at No. 3, dropped down to No. 5, and this move didn't pay dividends either. While Lucknow's bowling department looks much better compared to last season, they would want their batters to step up. They should enjoy themselves batting on the true wicket expected in Hyderabad.
