India's white-ball tour of Bangladesh deferred to September 2026
India were set to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against Bangladesh in August 2025. The matches were scheduled to be held in Mirpur and Chattogram. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed on July 5, 2025, that the tour has been officially postponed to September 2026.
The rescheduling was attributed to international calendar congestion and the logistical challenges encountered by both nations.
While it was mentioned that India would face Bangladesh in September, the exact dates for the matches were announced on Friday, January 2.
The Indian team is now scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on August 28, with the ODI matches to be played on September 1, 3 and 6. Meanwhile, the T20Is will be played on September 9, 12 and 13 before the neighbours return home.
BCB announced Bangladesh's home international fixtures for the 2026 season on Friday, with the calendar featuring bilateral series against Pakistan, New Zealand, India, Australia and the West Indies across the three formats.
"The confirmed itinerary ensures a season full of international cricket in Bangladesh, providing supporters across the country the opportunity to watch top-level cricket at home while details of match venues will be announced in due course," BCB said in a statement.
Pakistan will travel to Bangladesh on March 9 to play three ODIs between March 12 and 16. New Zealand's white-ball tour of Bangladesh in April-May will get underway with three ODIs, starting April 17, and as many T20Is, commencing on April 27 and ending on May 2.
Pakistan will return to play two Tests, which are going to be a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-2027 cycle. The first red-ball encounter will be played from May 8-12 and the second from May 16-20.
Australia's white-ball tour of Bangladesh starts on June 5 with three ODIs, before the three-match T20I series is due to be played between June 15-20.
After hosting India, Bangladesh will play a two-match Test series against the West Indies, which is also a part of the WTC. There is also a warm-up match lined up before this clash, and it will be held from October 22-24. The first Test is slated for the October 28-November 1 window, whereas the second will be played from November 5-9.
The Sri Lanka A team will also tour Bangladesh in May 2026 for a series against the hosts, comprising two four-day matches and three one-dayers.
Bangladesh women were set to tour India to take on Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. last month. However, the BCCI informed the BCB in November 2025 about the postponement of the tour. There is still no clarity regarding when that rubber would be organised.
