Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho reveals ‘focus’ before pivotal Game 3 vs. Canadiens

The Carolina Hurricanes leveled their Stanley Cup Playoffs series with the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2. Nikolaj Ehlers won the game with an overtime winner, sending the series to Montreal tied at one game apiece.

As Game 3 approaches on Monday night, Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho is speaking about his focus for the game, according to Walt Ruff.

“[We] have to have a good start and go from there. There’s two really good teams going at it, so both are going to have their moments, but at the same time, you’re focusing on your first shift,” Aho said.

Aho will be playing on the top line in Game 3, flanked by Andrei Svechnikov and Seth Jarvis. While he is going to be on the top rotation, Aho has not been great in the playoffs overall. He has just three goals and two assists so far in the playoffs, while also having a minus-three plus/minus rating.

Aho also has just one assist so far in the two games with the Canadiens, while having a minus-two rating overall. He has five shots, but has not been able to find the back of the net. He has not scored a goal since Game 4 against the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the playoffs, when he scored twice. The line has struggled as a whole. Jarvis did score in Game 1 with the Canadiens, but has just two goals overall. Meanwhile, Svechnikov has just one goal, coming in Game 3 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Game 3 between the Hurricanes and Canadiens is on Monday, with puck drop set for 8 pm ET.
