Hull vs Millwall predictions
Millwall look the big favourites here especially after their 3-1 win over Hull recently in this fixture in the regular season just a couple of months ago.
But the previous head to head fixtures suggest that Millwall usually struggle against the Tigers.
Millwall have exceptional form coming into the play-offs whereas Hull only just snuck into the play-offs after a poor run of form and then a win just when they needed it.
Previous form, head to head form and all those stats are out the window when it comes to the play-offs though and it’s so often the case that it just relies on a team to turn up to win.

Hull vs Millwall betting tips
Key players for play-offs
Millwall have a couple of key players, both of whom are former Reading including their top scorer Femi Azeez and star long-term captain and centre-back Jake Cooper.
Azeez was purchased when making a sharp uptick in progress in League One and has quickly settled into the Championship now, with 11 goals.
Hull’s Oli McBurnie has 17 though and his experience in goalscoring in these kind of games is crucial for their chances.
Cooper is no stranger to a goal as the tall defender poses a significant threat in the box from set-pieces.
He’s got four goals this season and played 45 games, having played 36 last season and 44 the season before that.
Couple that with his tally of bookings and he is very likely to be featuring in some kind of stats making an ideal addition to bet builders to either score or be carded.
Cards and corners galore
Play-offs can often be played rather tentatively from both sides.
Neither team wanting to concede and take the dreaded second leg having to come from behind.
But these two teams look like they will want to start early and change the complexion of any game plan from Hull to slow things down.
As such, it could be quite end to end and with that comes corners, potential goals and plenty of cards too with fouls needing to be made from either side to hinder or stop promising attacks.

However, they’ve gone out in the semi-finals in all three of their second tier play-off campaigns in 1990-91, 1993-94, and 2001-02 but of course have yet to play in the Championship play-offs for 24 years.

McBurnie has scored four goals in his last five games, while he’s two goals away from becoming the first Hull player to score 20 in all competitions in a season since Mallik Wilks in 2020-21 (22).
Azeez is one of just two players to have both scored 5+ goals (5) and provided 5+ assists (6) in the Championship in 2026, along with Jack Rudoni. Azeez’s 18 goal involvements in all competitions this season (11 goals, 7 assists) is his joint-best return in English football along with 2023-24 (9 goals, 9 assists).
