How many goals has Harry Kane scored for England?
Harry Kane has broken another record as he extends his position as England’s all-time leading scorer.
Bayern Munich star Kane is captaining the Three Lions in North America as they look to end their 60-year wait for a second World Cup triumph.

Thomas Tuchel’s side faced Croatia, Ghana and Panama during the group stage.
And Kane got off the perfect start both personally and with his team, scoring twice in a stunning 4-2 win over the Croatians in their Group L opener.
The 32-year-old former Tottenham star then drew a blank as England struggled to a goalless draw with Ghana but got another goal against Panama.
Kane had already scored eight goals across 11 World Cup appearances for England and is now up to 11, beating Gary Lineker’s previous record of 10.
Kane scored six at the 2018 tournament on his way to winning the Golden Boot, which has allowed him to wear a special patch on his kit this summer.
And he’ll be hoping to score plenty more over the next couple of weeks and guide the Three Lions to glory.
How many goals has Kane scored for England?
Since making his Three Lions debut aged 21 in March 2015, Kane has scored 82 goals in 117 caps.
The first of those came just seconds after he was introduced against Lithuania by Roy Hodgson for his first cap.
Kane would have to wait eight years to surpass Wayne Rooney as England’s record scorer.

England's all-time top scorer
- 1 – Harry Kane – 82 goals in 117 appearances
- 2 – Wayne Rooney – 53 goals in 120 appearances
- 3 – Sir Bobby Charlton – 49 goals in 106 appearances
- 4 – Gary Lineker – 48 goals in 80 appearances
- 5 – Jimmy Greaves – 44 goals in 57 appearances
- 6 – Michael Owen – 40 goals in 89 appearances
- 7 = Sir Tom Finney – 30 goals in 76 appearances
- 7 = Nat Lofthouse – 30 goals in 33 appearances
- 7 = Alan Shearer – 30 goals in 63 appearances
- 10 = Frank Lampard – 29 goals in 106 appearances
- 10= Vivian Woodward 29 goals in 23 appearances
His 54th international strike saw the former Tottenham Hotspur striker move ahead of Rooney.
The record-breaking effort came from the penalty spot in a 2-1 win over Italy in March 2023 during qualifying for Euro 2024.
Kane is also the third-highest appearance maker in England history, overtaking David Beckham, and is now behind only Peter Shilton and Rooney.
Shilton’s record of 125 will remain intact beyond the World Cup, with Kane unable to surpass it even if England reach the final.
The 32-year-old also has a long way to go to become the all-time top scorer in international football.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the current record holder with 145 goals in 231 caps for Portugal.
Kane is 10th on the all-time list, two behind Hungary legend Ferenc Puskas.
Meanwhile, he is ranked fifth among active players, with Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Romelu Lukaku and Robert Lewandowski ahead of him.

Who is England’s leading World Cup scorer?
After a long reign by Lineker, Kane is now England’s leading World Cup scorer.
The former Barcelona striker finished his Three Lions career with 10, partially thanks to six at the 1986 World Cup when he won the Golden Boot.
However, Kane has one of those to his name too, winning it at the 2018 World Cup, also with six goals.
He then added two more at the 2022 World Cup as England went out in the quarter-finals.
This year, Kane’s two goals against Croatia have drew him level with Lineker and he beat the record with his header against Panama.
The striker is also in the top ten of all-time top World Cup scorers, seven behind record-holder Lionel Messi.
The Three Lions captain will hope to move up that list soon as well and is just one behind Pele.
