Heavily bandaged WWE star Sheamus is back training just days after head injury
Just days after sustaining a serious head injury and bleeding heavily during one of his workout sessions, WWE’s Sheamus has now found his way back to the gym. A few days ago, Sheamus uploaded photos on social media showing his facial wound as he stood with blood all over him. Revealing the graphic injury on social media, fans saw Sheamus write, “Gym fail.”
“The Celtic Warrior” has now taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a photo of himself with a bandaged head at the Swiftkick MMA & Boxing gym. He also shared a video of himself hitting pads with his trainer. “Back on the [horse emoji] [light work],” captioned Sheamus.
The former WWE Champion has been out of action for several months now. He was last seen wrestling on an episode of Monday Night RAW in 2025. Sheamus’ last in-ring bout dates back to a 6-man tag-team where he teamed up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat the Judgment Day trio of Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Finn Bálor.
Recovering to come back healthier, Sheamus has recently been very active in the gym and with his training sessions. He was recently also spotted training with WWE NXT wrestlers Myles Borne, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger. In the training images he shared on social media, he also shared an aftermath image of the session with brutal welts on his back.
After getting ruled out of action last year, Sheamus, 48, underwent surgery in Dec. 2025 and is currently on the road to recovery. Despite the teases, as of now, there are no confirmed reports on his in-ring return.
