Haeran Ryu is officially a major champion.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship was won on Sunday, and despite a run by the field in a tournament that took a little longer to finish thanks to an early delay… Haeran Ryu outlasted them all.

This marks the first major championship of Ryu’s career as noted, but she is a rather experienced winner. In fact she has now won at least one event during all four seasons of her career. She is the first player since Jin Young Ko (2017-2020) to do this on the LPGA Tour.

All told 2026 has been an excellent season for Ryu and this title makes it all the more amazing. She has 10 cuts made in 11 starts, officially now one major championship, plus six additional top 10 finishes. Her only missed cut came at the Aramco Championship.

This major marked the first one this season that was not won by Nelly Korda so her quest to capture them all in 2026 has officially faded, but she does still have two chances to complete the career grand slam as the LPGA Tour defines it. Korda has already won this event specifically, and she has also won the Chevron (twice) as well as the U.S. Women’s Open. If she wins either the Evian or AIG Women’s Open then the CGS will be hers.

Congratulations to Haeran Ryu!
