Guerschon Yabusele leaves Bulls showdown vs. Wizards with shoulder injury

The Chicago Bulls took on the Washington Wizards in their second straight game on the road. They were without Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey due to injuries.

During the game, Guerschon Yabusele had to be taken out due to a left shoulder injury. In total, he played 16 minutes, scored five points, and dished out five assists. On April 7, Yabusele played 27 minutes with 9 points and six rebounds in a 129-98 win over the Wizards.

The Bulls are 30-49 with two more games left in the regular season after Thursday. Already, the Bulls are eliminated from the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, including the Play-In game.

Yabsusele has been with Chicago since February, after being traded from the New York Knicks. In all, Yabusele has played 25 games with Chicago and averaged 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Before that, he played 41 games with the Knicks, averaging only 2.7 points per game. Meanwhile, the Bulls are set to close a season marred by inconsistency, shake-ups, and injuries.

Also, Yabusele is playing in his fourth NBA season. In 2016, he was drafted 16th in the NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. He would go on to play for the Celtics from 2017 to 2019. Furthermore, Yabusele had stints overseas in France and China before playing in the NBA.

Afterward, Yabusele had additional stints overseas in China, Spain, and France, and returned to the NBA in 2024. He would go on to play one season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Afterward, he played for the Knicks from 2025 to 2026 and then arrived in Chicago.
