Giants surprisingly releases Darius Slayton before Week 1
Before the New York Giants open with a Week 1 contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, the team has made a move that releases one of their top pass-catcher from last season. As the Giants prepare for the 2026 season, there could be some fans who are surprised to see the team cut wide receiver Darius Slayton.
According to Matt Zenitz at CBS Sports, Monday’s transaction notice from the NFL would show that New York released Slayton.
“The Giants have released wide receiver Darius Slayton, per today’s NFL transaction notice,” Zenitz wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
