Giants’ Jameis Winston speaks his truth on Jaxson Dart-Donald Trump situation

The New York Giants have had to discuss things other than football over the past week since the Jaxson Dart and Donald Trump situation. Last week, Dart introduced Trump at a rally at Rockland Community College, and not only did it cause an uproar on social media, but in the Giants’ locker room as well.

Abdul Carter was one of the players who called out Dart, as he went on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “Thought this s–t was AI, what we doing man.”

The two, plus more of the Giants’ team, had a discussion about the situation, and all seems to be well.

Jameis Winston was asked about the situation during OTAs, and he gave an example about some of the things that have happened in his hometown of Alabama, citing where they blew up a church that killed four young girls. He also spoke about how a nine-year-old girl was put in jail because she wanted to march and exercise her freedom of speech.

He then went on to tie everything together, saying that this world isn’t perfect.

“That is how uncomfortable situations and uncomfortable times helped unify people, because you know them,” Winston said. “You realize them, and you grow from them.

“We have a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white kid and a Black, Muslim-religioned kid, who are coming together and showing y’all, showing the world, that we can come together. Everything doesn’t have to be viewed in this perfect snow globe, and everything doesn’t have to be perfect.”

Winston has always been vocal about any situation, and there’s no surprise that he offered his thoughts on this topic.

It looks like the Giants will be moving on from this and focusing on football as much as they can.
