The Green Bay Packers are expecting big things this upcoming NFL season from quarterback Jordan Love. Love is getting some love, from FOX Sports writer Steven Ruiz.

“Jordan Love’s MVP odds are far too low. The Packers are going to be in some shootouts, and based on what he showed in Denver on Friday night, he may have leveled up his game,” Ruiz wrote.

Love has been effective the last few seasons for Green Bay, although he has also battled injuries. During the 2025 campaign, the Packers made the NFL Playoffs. Love threw for 3,381 passing yards during the season.

This summer, Love has been working closely with his head coach Matt LaFleur.

“Trust is something that’s earned, and I think the more reps I have, the more time we have together, you just keep building,” Love said, per the team. “He’ll give me more opportunities to show that I can go do the right stuff out there and make the right decisions, get us in the right plays, and it’s something that if you keep doing the right stuff, he’ll keep trusting you more and more.”

Love said one of the biggest lessons he has learned in Green Bay is being able to call audibles and adjust on the fly.

“That’s probably the biggest jump I’ve made since being here,” Love said. “In college, we didn’t do anything (like that). We didn’t handle protections. We just threw hot (against the blitz). If we got pressure, we didn’t make any changes to the line of scrimmage.

“So getting into the NFL, that was the biggest test for me and the biggest area where I just had never done stuff like that.”

During the 2025 season, Green Bay lost to the Chicago Bears in the NFL Playoffs. The team’s goal this season is for a deeper run in the postseason.

The Packers play the Arizona Cardinals on Friday, to wrap up their NFL preseason games.
