George Kittle claps back at Thunder fan’s ‘bandwagon’ allegation

One fan accused George Kittle of being a “bandwagon” OKC Thunder fan, but that could not be further from the truth, as he revealed after attending the team’s Game 1 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals (WCF).

A fan took a video of Kittle at the game. He was standing courtside while the action was going on, and the fan thought it was performative. The fan claimed he would rather be at a Golden State Warriors game.

“George Kittle trying to bandwagon OKC but if the Warriors were playing[,] he’d be at the game lmao,” the fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

However, Kittle was quick to defend himself from the “bandwagon” allegations. He pointed out that he was a Normal Oklahoma High School alum.

“[I] graduated from Normal Oklahoma so you can chill[,] bruh,” the tight end responded.

As Kittle noted, he graduated from Normal High School in Oklahoma. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin, before moving to Oklahoma. He went to college at the University of Iowa.

George Kittle was at the Thunder’s double overtime loss to the Spurs in Game 1 of the WCF

Kittle was one of the many at the game between the Thunder and Spurs. While he was rooting for OKC, they lost their first game of the postseason against San Antonio.

They had swept their last two opponents, the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers, but they will seemingly have a tougher task against the Spurs.

The game reached two overtime periods, thanks to Victor Wembanyama’s heroics. He hit a deep three-pointer to send the game to a second overtime period.

OKC will have a couple of days to recoup following the loss. Game 2 will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, once again at home. Because they lost Game 1, they will play at least two more games at home in Games 2 and 5.
