Murakami’s slugging ways translated seamlessly from Japan, and he’s looking like a long-term keeper for the White Sox as a result. Chicago has him under contract for one more season after 2026 on a team-friendly deal worth $17.5 million, and considering how much he loves being with the team, he could be in line for an extension sooner or later.

White Sox fans have embraced Murakami as one of their own, and this 2026 squad is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most lovable bunches.
