All eyes are on Manchester when Fabio Wardley defends his WBO world heavyweight title in an all-British duel with Daniel Dubois.

The Suffolk slugger is unbeaten in a 21-fight professional career, but Dubois is a former IBF heavyweight king and the Londoner is looking to come again.

Daniel Dubois to win by stoppage @ 7/4

Dynamite can explode into action

Fabio Wardley puts his WBO world heavyweight strap on the line against British rival Daniel Dubois and this rates a dangerous spot for the champion.

The Suffolk slugger was elevated to full belt holder, after Oleksandr Usyk opted not to meet mandatory obligations, and it’s fair to say that Wardley still has something to prove at the top level of the sport.

Victories over Joseph Parker, Justis Huni and Frazer Clarke read well on the Ipswich fighter’s record, but that form is a little flimsy.

The 31-year-old laboured to a split-decision draw in his first contest with Clarke, before Wardly’s power ended Big Fraze in round one of the rematch.

Huni was miles ahead on the scorecards, and completely outboxing Wardley, before the Suffolk boxer found a knockout blow and those performances raise questions about the 31-year-old’s ability to compete at the top level.

Dubois came up short twice against Usyk, but the Ukrainian is an elite performer and Triple D had the former undisputed heavyweight king in trouble in their first bout.

Victories over Filip Hrgovic, Joe Joyce and Anthony Joshua looks stronger form than Wardley can offer and Dynamite really should be favourite in this spot.

Huni, Clarke and Parker are good operators, but they all lack explosive punch power and Wardley will be tasting a big-hitting heavyweight for the first time.

Dubois looks to hold the edge in terms of the jab and the Londoner can set up power shots behind his lead.

Wardley is tough, fit and committed, but he lacks the defensive skills to stay out of the way of Dynamite’s power and the Greenwich fighter destroyed both Joshua and Hrgovic.

At 11/10, Dubois looks an excellent bet to wrestle the belt from Wardley and become a two-time world champion in Manchester.

Fabio set to feel the power

Daniel Dubois has won 20 of his 21 professional contests by stoppage and Anthony Joshua, Joe Joyce and Filip Hrgovic all failed to hear the final bell in defeat to Dynamite.

The Greenwich fighter is one of the heaviest-hitting heavyweights around, and if a fighter as tough as Joyce is being stopped by Triple D, then Fabio Wardley could be in trouble.

The Suffolk man absorbed plenty of punishment in fights with Frazer Clarke and Justis Huni, but the 31-year-old was able to stay on his feet.

However, Dubois hits far harder than either of those fighters and if Wardley takes as many shots in Manchester it could be an early night.

The 31-year-old lacks the head movement and defensive abilities to stay away from the power punches of Dubois, and while Wardley is a tough fighter, only Jarrell Miller has been able to take the Londoner the distance.

Take Dynamite to land stoppage success on Saturday night.
