Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger dies aged 48 as car tragically struck by train
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger has tragically died at the age of 48.
The Austrian was involved in an accident in Salzburg as his car was hit by a train.

According to local police, the incident occurred at an unguarded level crossing in Nussdorf am Haunsberg.
Manninger played 64 times for the Gunners in all competitions, claiming a Premier League and FA Cup winner’s medal in the 1997/98 season.
He finished his career at Liverpool, signing a short-term contract in 2016 to maintain his fitness, although never made a competitive appearance before retiring in 2017.
The Austria international also played for Juventus among numerous other clubs during a journeyman career.
