ESPN’s Matt Miller has arm amputated in ‘life-saving’ surgery after horrific car crash

Almost a week after getting into a horrific car crash, ESPN’s Matt Miller had his arm amputated in what he called a “life-saving” move.

The NFL Draft analyst took to X, formerly Twitter, to provide an update after his crash. It will be a “long road” to recovery, but he sounds optimistic.

“Last week, I was involved in a serious car accident in Missouri and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital. I’m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I have received, from the first responders to the doctors, nurses and medical staff. I’m incredibly fortunate to be writing this,” he wrote. “As a result of the accident, I sustained significant injuries, including multiple fractures and broken ribs. I also underwent a life-saving amputation of my left arm.

“While I have a long road ahead, I’m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time,” he continued.

Miller thanked all of the fans for their support during this time. He promised he will be back at ESPN to get back to what he does best: talking about football.

Some of his ESPN co-workers, including Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter, responded to his post. Rapoport said, “Get well and hang in there!!” while Schefter wrote, “Best wishes for a speedy recovery. We are pulling for you!”
