The 2026 World Cup is just weeks away now and there are a few players that will be looking to make the squad and plane over to north America to star for the Three Lions.

But of course, they will first have to make the most of the rest of the season for their respective clubs to be in with a chance of making the cut.

There’s just a few weeks left in all competitions as the club season wraps up in May and some players will need to step things up if they want a shot at making Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

There are a plethora of players high up in the odds that look to have their place all but confirmed at this stage.

They include the likes of Harry Kane (1/25), Declan Rice, Jordan Pickford (1/20), Bukayo Saka (1/12) and Cole Palmer (1/10).

But there are a few players on the fringe and even a few outsiders that have the previous international form that could prove huge prices to make the final confirmed squad list.

Other contenders to make a surprise inclusion in the squad include the teenage sensation Max Dowman while the experience of players like Trent Alexander-Arnold is still an uncertainty to make Tuchel’s final squad.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is 6/4 and is an interesting contender among the lower end of the betting, yet still well above evens.

The full-back left Liverpool last season before moving to Real Madrid for the 2025/26 season but has only made ten appearances in the league and only three in the Champions League.

Meanwhile Dominic Calvert-Lewin is 7/2 despite his turnaround playing for Leeds.

The former Everton man had just ten Premier League goals for the Toffees in two seasons despite over 50 appearances for the club, so it wouldn’t have been a surprise to see him a huge price to make the World Cup squad.

But for Leeds he’s netted ten already in just 23 appearances and is making it a tough call for Tuchel who will have a long list of strikers he would want to take to America.

Conor Gallagher has gone from regular starter for Atletico Madrid to switching to Tottenham in the January transfer window and looking like a different player compared to his time at Chelsea.

He could make a significant impact to the England squad, but of course his role comes with fighting off a plethora of other players in the same position.

The same can be said for Ivan Toney, but surely Tuchel will be looking at his consistency in front of goal for Al-Ahli, scoring 43 goals in 50 appearances including 20 from 20 appearances this season alone in the Saudi Pro League.
