Eagles rumors: How rival execs feel about Jalen Hurts, potential trade

This upcoming season for the Philadelphia Eagles could be huge when looking at the future of the organization, and all eyes are looking at Jalen Hurts. The quarterback has shown the ability over the past few years to lead his team to some of the biggest games of his career, but he’s also had times when many are concerned about his future outlook.

Last season was considered a down year for Hurts, and the Eagles made sure this offseason to surround him with pieces that are going to help him succeed, and that first step was hiring a new offensive coordinator.

Still, there are many mixed reviews about Hurts around the league, and some are leaving the possibility open of the Eagles trading him, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

“Polarizing player, and as his running ability starts to decline his value will decline, too. And [Eagles general manager Howie Roseman] will always be proactive with finding solutions,” an AFC executive told Fowler.

On the other hand, there is optimism that Hurts will figure it out, and he could have a solid season.

“I think he’s going to play well,” an NFC personnel evaluator said. “He’s had so many different coordinators over the years that he’ll be able to adapt to the changes, and if the running game returns to form, [Hurts] throws it well over the top.”

Hurts has been rumored to be more open than ever to implement more play action and go under center, which is something that could unlock the Eagles’ offense.

The reason the Eagles were so successful two seasons ago was because of the run game, but teams did everything they could last season to stop it. When that wasn’t working, Hurts struggled to get the ball to his receivers.

Hopefully, Hurts can bounce back and get the Eagles back to the success they were having.
