Draymond Green blasts Knicks players over Victor Wembanyama shoving Jalen Brunson

The New York Knicks are up 2-1 in the NBA Finals, but they lost Game 3 at home to the San Antonio Spurs. It was a must-win game for the Spurs, and they came out to a fast start. It was also physical because at one point, Victor Wembanyama shoved Jalen Brunson in the head, which led him to fall to the ground. Brunson didn’t like the move, but Draymond Green noticed something in that moment that could mean a lot.

“He pushed him down and none of the guys on the Knicks team did anything. Don’t not for one second think that didn’t matter,” Green said on Kevin O’Connor’s podcast. “You’re not pushing Stephen Curry by the back of the head down to the ground.

“Josh Hart was like ‘Yo.’ No, you get right in there, and you make something happen. Because guess what. I may get thrown out of Game 3, because you’re not doing that. But when I come back for Game 4, you gotta deal with me, and you know you gotta do with me. ”

Draymond Green said if Wemby did to Steph what he did to Brunson in Game 3…he would’ve been thrown out.

Green has always stood up for his teammates, and it’s cost him to get ejected at times. It’s uncertain if the Knicks were willing to let that happen, but they could’ve just said something to Wembanyama in the moment.

Jose Alvarado had some words about the foul after the game, and he let it be known that it wouldn’t happen again.

“I think that’s not basketball,” Alvarado said. “That’s something that they gotta look at. But [Wembanyama] got away with one. That’ll be the last one.”

The league didn’t upgrade the foul afterwards, as they probably thought it wasn’t that serious. As for the Knicks, they know they have to be there for their teammate, especially the star player. It will be interesting to see what they do if something like that happens again.
