Dolphins’ Aaron Brewer agrees to $52.5 million extension
The Miami Dolphins are prioritizing their key players this offseason, and after extending De’Von Achane a few weeks ago, Aaron Brewer was the latest to get a pay raise, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Center Aaron Brewer and the Miami Dolphins reached agreement today on a 3-year, $52.5 million extension that includes $37 million guaranteed. The deal makes Brewer one of the highest-paid centers in the league in a deal done by Kyle McCarthy of Athletes First,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
There’s no question that Brewer deserved a new deal, as he outplayed the final year of his contract and had second-team All-Pro honors.
Brewer was just talking about how he was going to continue to put his head down and keep working despite not having a contract extension at that time.
“I know one way to go about things, and that’s work and keep my head down,” Brewer said via Ryan Yousefi of Sports Illustrated. “I hope to be here for the long run, so I’m trying to pour everything in me into everyone around me.”
He also has big goals for himself this season after the things he was able to accomplish last year.
“I was second-team All-Pro last year, but this year I want to be first-team All-Pro,” Brewer said. “I wasn’t a Pro Bowler last year, I want to be a Pro Bowler this year. Nominee for Protector of the Year; I want to be the Protector of the Year.”
Now with the extension, it will be interesting to see how Brewer continues to dominate on the offensive line.
