Dodgers’ Tyler Glasnow avoids IL stint for now, but there’s a catch

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow exited his most recent start with an injury. While Glasnow’s injury scare was far from ideal, manager Dave Roberts provided an important update on Friday, via Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

“Dave Roberts said Tyler Glasnow’s MRI didn’t show anything ‘significant.’ Dodgers are in ‘a holding pattern’ with him right now, Roberts said. As of right now, they aren’t making an IL move for him,” Ardaya reported.

Glasnow is not going on the injured list right now. With that being said, an IL stint has not been ruled out for the veteran starter. Los Angeles is going to continue to closely monitor the situation.

The good news is that Blake Snell is returning soon regardless. The Dodgers would love to have both Glasnow and Snell in the rotation at the same time, however.

Glasnow, 32, has pitched to 2.72 ERA across seven outings in 2026. He has 49 strikeouts in 39.2 innings of work as well. He has certainly made a significant impact on the Dodgers. Los Angeles is hopeful that he can avoid a stint on the IL.

With that being said, the Dodgers are going to proceed with caution. The last thing they want is for Glasnow to return too soon and risk further injury.

Updates will continue to be monitored and provided on his injury status as they are made available.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers will begin a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night in Los Angeles. First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 PM EST.
