Dodgers’ Max Muncy on verge of breaking all-time record after HR vs. Phillies
The Los Angeles Dodgers came away with a dominant 9-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. Helping their cause was a 431-foot home run from Max Muncy.
The blast came in the eighth inning when Los Angeles was already well on their way to victory. Still, Muncy’s slam puts him on the verge of Dodgers history. He is now just two blasts away from breaking the all-time Dodgers Stadium home run record. Muncy is slowly creeping up on second-place for the all-time franchise record as well, via David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports.

Following Sunday’s game, Muncy now has 14 home runs on the season. He leads the Dodgers, with his homer breaking a tie with Andy Pages. Alongside the home runs, Muncy has hit .257 with 21 RBIs over his 39 games. A hit by pitch forced the infielder to hit the injured list earlier in the season. But now healthy, the Dodgers are expecting Muncy to be a key source of run production.
The infielder approaching Dodger Stadium greatness is a testament to his consistency with the franchise. Outside of the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, Muncy has 15+ home runs in every season of his nine-year Los Angeles campaign. When he steps up to the plate, the Dodgers know Muncy can change the game in an instant.
He is now just six home runs away from tying his total 2025 long ball output. Assuming he hits that many, he’ll hold the second most home runs in franchise history. And if two happen at Dodger Stadium, Muncy will have officially etched his name further into franchise lore forever.
