DeAndre Jordan fulfills ‘side quest’ at Dodgers-Rays game
DeAndre Jordan is winding down quite an illustrious NBA career. He most recently spent his time in the association with the New Orleans Pelicans this past season, being a mentor for the team’s young core, most notably for rookie center Derik Queen. This offseason, Jordan, the 37-year-old big man, is fulfilling side quests — being present for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.
Jordan wasn’t just over in the stands to watch the game. He even got the credentials to be a photographer at the Dodgers photo pit, and he was proud of this occasion — posting it on his official account on X (formerly Twitter).

At this point of his NBA career, there is nothing else left for Jordan to fulfill. He already won an NBA championship, back in 2023 with the Denver Nuggets, and he’s simply hanging on to a gig in the league by being a nurturing presence for young players in the locker room.
The Dodgers were more than happy to give him an opportunity to take some photos from the iconic pit at Dodger Stadium, as he was a stalwart for Los Angeles hoops for over a decade — being a part of the iconic Lob City Los Angeles Clippers.
Jordan was an All-Star back in 2017, and he even made it to the All-NBA First Team back in 2016. The Clippers with him at the five were contenders year after year, but they fell short on all occasions, most notably in 2015, when they choked away a 3-1 series lead in the second round of the playoffs against the Houston Rockets.
The 2018-19 campaign was his last full season as a starter, splitting his time with the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks. From the 2019-20 season onwards, Jordan has mostly been a backup center, suiting up for the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Nuggets, and Pelicans.
