Dave Portnoy says what all Bruins fans are thinking after disastrous Game 4 start vs. Sabres

The Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres are currently facing off in Game 4  of their first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series. The Bruins were looking to even the series after a Game 3 loss at home.

Game 4 did not start as planned. The Bruins gave up four goals in the first 15 minutes of the game, and Dave Portnoy posted exactly what every fan was thinking.

“What time does the Bruins game start?” Portnoy posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The Sabres scored just over four minutes into the game, as Peyton Krebs scored. Josh Doan then would find the back of the net less than three minutes later. Then, just over two minutes after that, Doan found Zach Benson to make it three goals in under ten minutes. Bowen Byram would add another goal before the period ended, making it 4-0.

The four goals allowed by Boston in the first period set some recent history, according to ESPN Insights.

“Look away, Bruins fans.  This is the first time the Bruins have allowed 4 goals in the first period of a Stanley Cup Playoff game since 1991 vs. the Hartford Whalers,” ESPN Insights posted on X.

The Bruins were able to play better in the second period, not allowing a goal, but also not finding the back of the net. Then, the Sabres came out firing again in the third period. Beck Malenstyn scored his first goal of the playoffs, and then Alex Tuch scored less than a minute and a half later, making it 6-0.

The Sabres will head home to Buffalo with a 3-1 series lead, unless the Bruins can somehow do the impossible, and score six goals in under three minutes, while the Sabres are on the powerplay.
