Dave Allen has promised to deliver the answer to a viral online discussion involving Luke Littler and Mo Farah.

A hypothetical contest has emerged on social media which has seen fans debate who would win a unique half-marathon between darts world champion Littler and Olympic gold medallist Farah.

The race would involve the two sports heroes attempting to checkout from 501 on a dartboard after each mile.

There has been plenty of discussion over this, with fans divided over who would come out on top.

But no one has taken the question more seriously than British heavyweight boxer Allen, who is keen to see the contest take place.

Promising to pay Littler and Farah to take part if he beats next opponent Filip Hrgovic, the ‘White Rhino’ has already messaged the two stars to get the wheels in motion over a race.

Littler vs Farah?

With Littler and Farah both keen, Allen is now promising to deliver the hotly-anticipated battle under his own ‘White Rhino Promotions’.

Appearing on talkSPORT’s Hawksbee and Baker, the boxing star lifted the lid on being swept away by the question on everyone’s lips.

On how he came to organise the contest, Allen said: “When I first heard this question, I thought it was the best thing I’d ever heard in my life.

“I thought: ‘This is an unbelievable question, whoever made this question up is a genius!’

And after getting the green light from both, Allen revealed it’s now full steam ahead for the most unlikely showdown.

He continued: “Now they’re both on it, and hopefully we can get it over the line and it can actually happen.”

“Because everyone’s like: ‘Oh, I wonder what would happen if this happened or that happened’ – wonder no more.

“White Rhino Sports Promotions is here, and I’m going to make it all happen.”

Host Charlie Baker then added another hurdle to the bizarre Littler v Farah contest, suggesting the pair should go a round with Allen in the boxing ring at the halfway point of the race.

Given his heavyweight status, Allen quickly ruled this out: “If we’re only six and a half miles in, that’s the problem, I’d just end it there.”

However, the boxer then sensationally threw his own name into the ring, as he added: “I would be interested in joining in.

“I do think I’m a better runner than Luke Littler, and I’m a better darts player than Mo Farah

“Obviously, I’m not a professional at either sport, but I would fancy my chances of actually beating them both, because I am half decent at both sports.”

Who comes out on top?

Despite backing himself to pip both Farah and Littler in their unique battle, Allen found it more difficult to choose a winner between the pair.

He told talkSPORT: “I think between those two, it would be really close.

“One is one of the greatest long-distance runners of all time. The other fellow probably is up there as one of the greatest darts players of all time already.

“But now I’ve thrown my own cap in the ring – waist down, I’m a long-distance runner. Waist up, I’m a darts player.”

Sean Dyche: There’s only one winner

Allen wasn’t the only person to weigh in on the viral debate on talkSPORT, with iconic ex-Premier League manager Sean Dyche also giving his two cents.

Asked for his pick between Farah and Littler on Friday’s Breakfast Show, the former Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Everton manager was in no doubt that the darts star would emerge victorious.

Dyche said: “That’s an interesting one.

“We know there’s only one winner there, isn’t there? It’s Luke [Littler] isn’t it?”

While Breakfast hosts Jeff Stelling and Shebahn Aherne questioned Littler’s running credentials, Dyche was adamant.

He continued: “There’s possibly a dietitian out there who could probably have a look and [tell Little to] do something different. But I’m not knocking it.

On Littler, Dyche he added: “What a player. When I was a kid I used to play darts. I’m rubbish now, but what a darter.”
