Darren Till scores brutal one-punch KO in BKFC debut after early scare

Darren Till picked himself up off the canvas to score a vicious knockout in his bare-knuckle boxing debut.

Till met reality TV star Aaron Chalmers in the co-main event of BKFC 90 at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.

The action got off to a frenetic start when Chalmers decked Till with a well-timed left hook in the opening stanza.

Till went down to one knee but popped right back up again and didn’t appear to be particularly hurt by the shot.

If anything, the shot served to wake up the UFC veteran, who saw out the round and then immediately knocked out Chalmers with the first punch he landed in the second frame.

As Chalmers dipped to his left, Till uncorked a massive left straight from the southpaw stance that left the Geordie keeled over on the canvas.

He couldn’t beat the count, and the fight was subsequently waved off.

“I was made for this [bare knuckle violence], I was made for it, I’m a Scouse hillbilly,” said Till in the immediate aftermath of his victory.

“[I said] I’ve got to let my hands go in the second [and] I got it.

“I told my coach I wanted to feel it out in the first round, and Adam has got more experience and that first round was his.

“But, guys, look, full respect to Aaron, please respect this man, the set of balls on this man.

“All I’ve heard people call him a reality TV star – that was 65 years ago!

“He’s a fighter. He’s been fighting and training with the likes of Leon Edwards; he’s a proper man.”

Asked who he wants to face next, Till recreated his famous post-fight speech after his victory over Stephen Thompson in the UFC in 2018.

“F****** Everyone and everyone, I don’t care, I’m not scared of anyone,” he bellowed.

While Till stopped short of naming names, he told talkSPORT.com earlier this year that Mike Perry was at the top of his hitlist.

“Obviously, the ultimate one, and the king of it all, is Mike Perry. I’d really love that one...

“[BKFC] have spoken to me about it, yes.”
